We offer a wide variety of entertaining activities for all tastes: hiking, horseback riding, canopy, rafting and much more.
We have been offering outdoor activities for more than 35 years and we have the best guides for each activity.

We invite you to get to know our activities and live an unforgettable experience in the natural environment of our Nature Sanctuary. For all activities it is recommended to arrive 15 minutes before the reserved time.

Rafting

Enjoy the longest section of the Maipo River.

Cascada de las Animas operates the longest rafting section of the Maipo River and no other operator can offer you more! On the way down you will be confronted with 34 rapids, 8 of which are category IV and +IV!

We offer you the most complete river equipment and we work with more than 15 certified guides and support staff, many of them members of the Chilean Rafting National Team and experts in the Maipo River and its surroundings.

We invite you to share an unforgettable adventure traveling through the interior of the Andes Mountains riding a noble and docile Chilean horse. We visit beautiful valleys, lagoons, crystal clear water estuaries and carpets of flowers, nestled amidst the snow-capped Andean peaks.

We employ the best guides and muleteers in the area and have alternatives for both experienced adventurers and first time riders.

Tour our Nature Sanctuary

The Cascada de las Ánimas Nature Sanctuary is a privileged space consisting of more than 3,600 hectares of mountain ranges, valleys, springs and waterfalls. We invite all nature lovers to join our hikes, tour the scenic beauty of the high mountain range and encounter its flora and fauna.

We offer hikes of different levels of difficulty, some of which take place in our sanctuary itself and others in the surrounding area, visiting the most emblematic natural attractions of Cajón del Maipo.

Canopy

Dare to fly through the air

Throwing yourself down a cable from one bank of the Maipo River to the other while crossing a forest of pine and eucalyptus trees is one of the most exciting activities that can be enjoyed at Cascada de las Ánimas.

Our canopy and the traditional zip line offer us this exciting spectacle, while we feel the wonderful sensation of the wind brushing our faces and observe the snow-capped peaks and the torrent that runs several meters below.

Cascada Animal Shelter

 

Tour our Environmental Education and Exhibit Center

We open the doors of the Cascada Animal Refuge in the Cascada de las Ánimas Nature Sanctuary so you can enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience, in direct contact with nature and wildlife.

During the visit, you will tour the facilities of the new Exhibition and Environmental Education Center, where you can meet the animals that live permanently in the Refuge, learn about its history and the work done by our Foundation. In addition, you can meet the Huilo and Maqui pumas by entering the enclosure and observe them from a room exclusively for visitors. Before finishing, you can visit "The Nest", a museum-style room where you will have an immersion into the world of naturalists and native fauna.

Frequently Asked Questions

1Does Cascada de las Animas have hot springs?
There are no hot springs on the grounds of Cascada de las Animas. Guests looking for relaxation can use our Spa (additional cost). It is also possible to organize an excursion to Colina baths, located 1 hour from Cascada de las Animas (ask our team for more information: info@cascadadelasanimas.cl).
2Is rafting dangerous?
Rafting is exciting, wet, adrenaline-filled and incredibly entertaining, however, like any other sporting activity there is an inherent risk. The risk contributes to the entertainment and is one of the reasons it brings so many people. Our guides are trained to minimize and manage the risks and statistically you are safer in a raft than in your car. The most common problems in rafting are sunburns and falls that can occur when getting in and out of the rafts.
3Should I tip the guides?
Tips for the guides are welcome. They work hard to ensure you a safe and entertaining trip. If you feel your guide did a good job, kept you entertained by sharing the wonder of the river and its surroundings feel free to show your appreciation.
4What kind of shoes do you recommend for hiking?
Walking should be done with sneakers or boots.
